Leadership is both lonely and all encompassing.

Whether you are the Managing Director of a medium to large enterprise, the Country Director of a multinational entity, a technical specialist working across time zones from a remote location or the head of a non-governmental organization, you likely share these two conditions -  isolation and burn out.

It's a strange kind of isolation. The more senior you get, the more people you will need to interact with. So, there is no shortage of the quantity of smart and committed people clamouring for your attention. However, it is hard to be fully authentic and share your fears, ambitions, half baked ideas and dreams with them.

Needless to say, leaders often have limited bandwidth to focus on themselves. They are too busy supporting others and fighting fires that they are left with very little gas in the tanks to focus on themselves or on more strategic issues that are critical for their sustained professional and personal success.

Supporting Leaders Move from Awareness to Alignment

I partner with leaders in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential, which is particularly important in today’s uncertain and complex environment.

Leaders are successful because they are smart, passionate and willing to work hard. My role is simple - It is to create a safe space to help leaders pause, de-clutter their minds, infuse positivity, become aware of what is truly important for them and then align their lives with their long term goals. Further, I teach them simple yet time-tested tools to build emotional resilience and mindfulness.

I was drawn to the Coaching for Transformation model as it provides a structured and intuitive process for moving individuals toward greater personal effectiveness and fulfillment.

At the core of the Coaching for Transformation process are skills to help people understand their deep-rooted needs and values. This increased ‘emotional self-awareness’ leads to greater internal alignment and subsequently more sustained actions to support self-growth

Coaching for Transformation Model
My Coaching Principles

  • I honour the client as the expert in his or her life and work

  • I believe every client is creative, resourceful and whole.

  • I support individual leaders and teams who are willing to commit the time and energy to work on improving themselves.

Why might a leader engage me as a coach?

An individual or team might choose to work with me for many reasons, including but not limited to the following:

  • To support their transition related to a new job/career/life decision.

  • Something compelling is at stake (a challenge, stretch goal or opportunity)

  • Visualize a future role that is more in alignment with current needs and values.

  • Core strengths need to be identified, along with how best to leverage them

  • Needing a confidential space to explore and reflect on personal and organizational performance and challenges

  • Work and life are out of balance, creating unwanted consequences.

  • To become ‘unstuck,’ transform themselves and the world around them

  • Different perspective required.

  • Strengthen relationships –internal and external

  • To enhance their career

  • Make their teams work more harmoniously

“Leadership is often lonely. Sanjay’s patient listening combined with a non-judgmental personality provided a great sounding board for me personally.

I enjoyed and benefitted from the opportunity to pause, reflect and re-charge during our sessions together. I particularly value the interactions we had when I needed a quick ‘gut check.’  Rather than suggesting solutions,

Sanjay helped me arrive at my own conclusions by posing thoughtful questions. And guiding the direction – rather than the destination – of our discussions.“
